Philly CoderDojo Volunteer Onboarding Process:

  1. THANK YOU for your interest in volunteering for Philly CoderDojo (PCD)!!!

  2. Please complete PCD Volunteer & Mentor CoderDojo Registration if you have not done so already
  3. For volunteers age18 and above, please submit the following clearances, you indicated you already have. Apply online for necessary (3) certifications to volunteer with youth in Pennsylvania - SEE instructions attached: 
    1. Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance – free;
    2. PA Department of Ed - School Districts, Register, take receipt to fingerprinting location – $24.25 (can get need assistance with paying) 
    3. FBI Criminal Background – free;
  4. Please Complete Training: 
    1. Inspiring Ninjas: How to mentor at a Dojo
    2. Safeguarding module E-Learning modules
    3. CoderDojo Ethos Behavior: Implementation and Practice
    4. Social Media and Communication Guidelines for Volunteers
  5. Review Unity Resources to assist with dojo content planning
  6. Visit Dojo online, Receive, Sign & Return PCD Mentor Agreement
  7. Introduction to fellow Mentors and get brief orientation and shadow mentor ninjas
  8.  RSVP to Mentor at Dojos including dojo content, survey questions and updated information
  9. Mentor at Dojos: Inspire knowledge transfer to and between ninjas, support their development as well-rounded technologists: self-motivated learners, creators and problem solvers with social skills.
